The Devil in the White Palace

Finally posting photos of the trip we took a month ago to the Loire Valley. Spent a gorgeous two days in the warm sunshine of the countryside exploring castles and lazing around. Seems so sweet now that the rain is coming down, it’s cold without snow and the work is piling on.

The first chateau we visited was Chambord, built by François I with Leonardo da Vinci as the reputed architect. It was a pleasure palace and not an actual residence so it was mostly empty with an amazing staircase, like a strain of DNA, double helix that never cross, running up and down with windows so you can take silly pictures of your friends. It was all white stone and rain and splashes of autumn.
